7 Days - Classic-Tour

On this tour you have it all - in only one week.

This tour will be updated soon.

This tour is only on paved and cobblestone roads. You don’t need off road experience. But the bike has to be well controlled on winding mountain roads.

It’s also possible to do this tour with a pillion rider (passenger).

Please note: We want to ride in a relaxed environment and not race. Our mission at Bike-Mexico is for everyone to enjoy the ride at a comfortable pace and insure a stress-free experience. This allows everyone to enjoy and truly take in this beautiful country. We focus and always insure there is enough time to stop, enjoy the scenery and take some memorable pictures or videos.

This tour will be updated soon.
Tour Itinerary

1. Day

Puerto Vallarta - San Sebastián del Oeste - Mascota - Talpa de Allende

Starting in Puerto Vallarta we ride directly into the mountains passing through different vegetation zones. We stop and visit the old colonial village of San Sebastián del Oeste (Altitude 1400 m / 4600 feet). Leaving the village behind, we ride on spectacular curvy mountain roads up to more than 1800 m / 5900 feet towards the small old colonial town of Mascota (1240 m / 4000 feet).

After our lunch break we ride to Talpa de Allende, a famous and very important town for Catholic pilgrims. We have time to explore the wonderful colonial center with its plaza, awe-inspiring church and enjoy the special atmosphere on the streets in the evening.

2. Day

Talpa de Allende – Ameca – Lake Chapala

From Talpa de Allende we ride on spectacular roads with hundreds of twisting curves to the old colonial town of Ameca (1230 m / 4000 feet). We have time for a snack and visit the historical city center with its wonderful market and colonial buildings. We leave Ameca and cross the fertile farming land of the Mexican highlands before we arrive at Lake Chapala. The lake, situated at about 1500 m/5000 ft. is the biggest lake of all Mexico. We stay over night in the beautiful and charming town of Chapala.

3. Day

Chapala – Morelia

Leaving Chapala we ride around nearly the whole Lake Chapala, which is aprox. 80 km/50 miles long. We ride on twisty roads into the pinewood forests of Michoacan up to 2500 m/8200 ft before we reach the beautiful colonial city of Morelia, which is the capital of the state of Michoacán. The city is one of the oldest cities of Mexico with many impressive buildings from the 16th century like the very impressive cathedral and beautiful plazas like in Italy. We will stay in a beautiful old colonial hotel.

4. Day

Morelia – Volcán Paricutín - Mazamitla

From Morelia we ride about 1 hour before we reach the colonial town Pátzcuaro, situated at the lake with the same name. We have a coffee stop at the town plaza before we ride further to the Volcano Paricutin. This volcano is only about 75 years old! The lava destroyed the surrounding villages and you can still see the steeple of the church, which is still there.  After lunch we ride further to Mazamitla, 2250 m/7400 ft. With its wooden houses, the town looks like we are in Switzerland or Austria. Here we stay over night.

5. Day

Mazamitla – Colima – Comala – Manzanillo – Barra de Navidad

We leave Mazamitla and descend on twisty mountain roads. On our way to Colima we will have awesome views over the Volcano Colima and the Nevado de Colima (4260m/14000ft), which in wintertime can be snow-capped. We have lunch at another Pueblo Mágico (Magic Village), Comala. After a lunch break we are heading further towards the Pacific Ocean and it gets warmer again. We pass Manzanillo with its important port, before we reach our destination, Barra de Navidad.

6. Day

Barra de Navidad

After all the days with a lot of riding it’s now time to relax a bit.

We can stay in the small and laid back beach town and just relax at the beach. Or if you wish we can go on a boat trip and visit the nearby bays or beaches as well as fishing and snorkeling.

7. Day

Barra de Navidad – Punta Perula – Puerto Vallarta

We ride north and explore some of the beautiful beaches, bays and fishing villages on our way. We will have our lunch break in Punta Perula, a laid back village situated on a beautiful bay. After lunch we start our last part of this trip back to Puerto Vallarta.

Please Note: It’s as well possible to stay 2 nights in Morelia instead of 2 nights in Barra de Navidad. Like this you have more time to enjoy the beautiful city of Morelia.
